Group Tours
What’s included
Academic expertise, made accessible for all
Your tour will be led by an ex-teacher and active doctoral researcher experienced in working with large groups, with different ages, experiences and abilities. My easy-going communication style conveys depth of knowledge with accessibility and enthusiasm, bringing artefacts and archaeology to life for those with no prior knowledge. The tours can are adapted to suit keen enthusiasts and those encountering Hadrian’s Wall for the first time alike.
Tailored to your group, at your pace
I shape the day around what your members want to explore and pitch it at the right level, with gentle walking that works for mixed ages and mobilities. I can accompany you for the whole trip or simply meet you at your chosen sites — whatever suits. I am happy to produce hands-on interactive resources and teacher packs for school/youth groups to continue the learning into the classroom, and will work with you to tailor the tour to your learning objectives/curriculum.
End-to-end planning
I act as your tour-planning consultant: designing the itinerary and advising on transport, accommodation and tickets, so the organiser's job becomes easy.
I particularly enjoy curating themed tours that help you to build a picture of life on Hadrian’s Wall across multiple sites. Recent themed tours I have offered have included: Roman Religion on Hadrian’s Wall; Everyday Life on Hadrian’s Wall; the Voices of Women on Hadrian’s Wall; Diversity and Hadrian’s Wall and the Life of a Soldier on Hadrian’s Wall.
